There are two hostels for boys (Sr. Boys Hostel and Jr. Boys Hostel) and a separate hostel for girls. The mess of each hostel is equipped with modern facilities. Each hostel has a Residential Warden under the direction of Chief Warden ensures implementation of discipline and creation of an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Spacious and well ventilated rooms with adequate furniture and cupboards are available to provide the students with a homely environment.
Girls Hostel is located within the campus and has facilities for indoor games. Special arrangements have been made for the safety, security and privacy of the girls residing in the hostel. To cater to the requirement of increased intake, further storeys have been added to Girls Hostel this year.
With the ever changing nature of technological innovations and globalization, the need for budding technocrats is ever growing. Class Rooms
Classrooms have been designed in the form that students can easily and comfortably view the boards and the audio visual devices without any obstruction. Modern pedagogy is being used by the faculties to make an interesting teaching like PPT room, overhead projector, LCD projector and magnetic graph boards are also available for convenience of teachers. Well-equipped tutorial rooms are also available for better interaction between students and teachers. Spacious, air-cooled, well lit, echo proof stepped class-rooms with the facility of LCD projectors, Touch Panels, PC with internet connection & audio visual interface throw shine on the quality education of the Institution.
The spacious classrooms in Campuses provide the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussions.
- They have been designed to bring together analysis with action and are augmented with integrated audio-visual teaching aids for lectures, presentations etc.
- Special sessions and classes are held on business etiquettes, negotiation skills, effective communication, leadership, teamwork and analytical skills.
- Most classrooms are centrally air-conditioned to create the apposite atmosphere for long hours of learning.
Computer Center
The computer labs are fully air conditioned and the students are privileged to have unlimited access round the clock. The laboratories are equipped with structured fiber optic and UTP cabling network and other relevant software. We have state-of-the-art computer laboratories with 410 computers (DELL, ACER & HP make), 5 servers, 38 printers with a dedicated network.
The Computer laboratories are being upgraded from time to time to provide the best computational infrastructure. The Computer Centre houses powerful servers, which provide computational environment comprising of multiple operating systems – Microsoft Windows, Linux &Unix and can be accessed from any of the nodes attached to the servers across the campus.
The Department of Computer Science &Engg.maintains an institutional membership in the MSDN that helps the students to have an access (free of charge) to all the latest Microsoft development tools. Students may check out the original CD’s for the package if they want (24 hour checkout only), and they will be given a label with its activation code. Students can immediately burn a copy of the CD(s), affix the label, and return the original CD to the department. The IT department library keeps available one of the PCs with legal software for students to it and they can copy it and keep with them as long as they wish.
Wi-Fi Facility
21st Century belongs to “Era of Web Information” as Internet plays backbone for every aspect of life.Understanding the need and importance of Internet in the field of education, our campus is supported by round the clock High Speed Internet and has a strong backbone of dedicated OFC link throughout the campus with the help of which the students can surf the Web and can enhance their knowledge as well as extract unlimited e-Information.
In addition to this, the students are also being provided Wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) using which the students can access online information anywhere in and around the campus using their Laptops and Hand-held devices.Recently Reliance Jio have also installed OFC in our campus and providing the free Wi-Fi connectivity to the students, teachers and all for their Laptops and Hand-held devices. All the buildings of the campus are connected with the OFC, providing the high speed internet facility.
Library Facility
A library can be considered a store-house of knowledge. It plays a very important role in promoting the progress of knowledge. Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions has an automated central library covering an area of 900m square. With the developments in computers, microelectronics and communication technologies, the behavioral characteristics of the information seekers have been changing rapidly and the library is trying its best to adapt with the technological advancement. A large number of reference books, national and international journals on variety of subjects are also available which assist in processing information and updating knowledge. The library is fully computerized and embellished with Wi- Fi zone with photocopy and printing facilities. The digital section provides the students with Audio/ Video CD’s & CBT’s. Library services can be availed round the clock. ERP Software has also been instituted in library system.
The libraries at Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutionsare more like integrated Knowledge Resource Centerthat are stocked with over 5100 books in total, periodicals, references, national and International Journals, CD-ROMs covering all aspects of academic studies and research material.
Guest House
The campus have a guest house with well furnished rooms. These rooms have attached bathrooms cum toilets with them. These rooms have all modern facilities such as A.C., LED, Wi-Fi facility and so on. These rooms are available for parents and also for students when they came in off hours. No charges are taken for these rooms.
Transport Facility
Safety of our students is our prime concern. Thus, our transport facility is fully equipped to provide the safest & the most convenient transport solution. The college provides excellent transportation facilities with a fleet of buses. Transportation focuses on accessibility rather than the mobility and Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions provides a wide range of transportation facility. We covered the entire route through our bus system. These buses bring the students and staff to the campus in the morning before commencement of the class work and return back after the completion of the classwork. To ensure a smooth commuting to and from the college, Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions runs its fleet of buses for students and staff from Himalayan and beyond, facilitate the movement of students and staff. The route of the transport is decided on the basis of student density in various locations of city. The buses ensure an excellent connectivity throughout Himalayan and nearby villages. A vehicle for Emergency purposes is also available round the clock in the service of students.
