Canteen Facility

While studying,students often get so Hungry & Tired that Food & Rest cannot appear to them except in the form of cafeteria and Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions,Kala-Amb provides its students, staff and faculty with an amazing café experience in the college campus with its well maintained and well equipped Cafeteria. The cafeteria is not just a food joint but a place to relax, interact, rejuvenate and take a refuge from the daily hectic schedule!!!

For many students who use the Cafeteria regularly, the food purchased there makes a significant contribution to their total food intake and nutrition. In addition to the provision of nutritious food, the Cafeteria has an important role within the broader college environment in complementing the knowledge, skills and behaviors about healthy eating and lifestyles that are taught in the classroom.

The food provided within the college environment has a considerable influence on the development of student’s long-term eating habits, food preferences and attitudes towards food.The college Cafeteria plays an important role in promoting healthy foods and creating a college culture of healthy eating. This can extend beyond the college environment and influence food choices within the family and community and enhance the social and multicultural aspects of food and eating.

The Hygienic, nutritive, and a well laid-out cafeteria of the Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions is noted for all the delicacies prepared therein. Students relax and chat around in spacious, clean and comfortable Cafeteria. The Cafeteria staff serves with dignity to the staff as well as to the students. There is a provision for fresh and hygienic eatables at reasonable rates. Students enjoy and gossip in their leisure time. It is a relaxing place for tired students and they gather here for a break from their regular studies. Quality of eatables is taken care of.

Class Rooms

Classrooms have been designed in the form that students can easily and comfortably view the boards and the audio visual devices without any obstruction. Modern pedagogy is being used by the faculties to make an interesting teaching like PPT room, overhead projector, LCD projector and magnetic graph boards are also available for convenience of teachers. Well-equipped tutorial rooms are also available for better interaction between students and teachers. Spacious, air-cooled, well lit, echo proof stepped class-rooms with the facility of LCD projectors, Touch Panels, PC with internet connection & audio visual interface throw shine on the quality education of the Institution.

The spacious classrooms in Campuses provide the most conducive atmosphere for dynamic and focused discussions.

Computer Center

The computer labs are fully air conditioned and the students are privileged to have unlimited access round the clock. The laboratories are equipped with structured fiber optic and UTP cabling network and other relevant software. We have state-of-the-art computer laboratories with 410 computers (DELL, ACER & HP make), 5 servers, 38 printers with a dedicated network.

The Computer laboratories are being upgraded from time to time to provide the best computational infrastructure. The Computer Centre houses powerful servers, which provide computational environment comprising of multiple operating systems – Microsoft Windows, Linux &Unix and can be accessed from any of the nodes attached to the servers across the campus.

The Department of Computer Science &Engg.maintains an institutional membership in the MSDN that helps the students to have an access (free of charge) to all the latest Microsoft development tools. Students may check out the original CD’s for the package if they want (24 hour checkout only), and they will be given a label with its activation code. Students can immediately burn a copy of the CD(s), affix the label, and return the original CD to the department. The IT department library keeps available one of the PCs with legal software for students to it and they can copy it and keep with them as long as they wish.

Hostel Facility

There are two hostels for boys (Sr. Boys Hostel and Jr. Boys Hostel) and a separate hostel for girls. The mess of each hostel is equipped with modern facilities. Each hostel has a Residential Warden under the direction of Chief Warden ensures implementation of discipline and creation of an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Spacious and well ventilated rooms with adequate furniture and cupboards are available to provide the students with a homely environment.

Girls Hostel is located within the campus and has facilities for indoor games. Special arrangements have been made for the safety, security and privacy of the girls residing in the hostel. To cater to the requirement of increased intake, further storeys have been added to Girls Hostel this year.

Boys’ hostels are located in the campus and have facilities for outdoor games like badminton, volleyball, basketball and cricket. There is a shopping complex located in the campus to cater their day-to-day needs.

Facilities Provided

With the ever changing nature of technological innovations and globalization, the need for budding technocrats is ever growing. The institute provide value addition and mould the students with ingredients of science and technology so as to fully train them in the field of their specialization. The campus provides educational system that includes engineering design, management skills, comprehensive theoretical knowledge, experimental backup and practical industrial training. The salient features of the education system are:

Strictly Forbidden

  • Ragging in any form.
  • Possession or use of alcoholic beverages/addictive drugs/chewing tobacco/ cigarettes etc.
  • Possession or use of electric stove, room heater or any heavy electrical gadget.
  • Any unauthorized person in hostel room.
  • Any kind of violence.
  • Playing music at high volume.
  • Playing of cards/gambling.
  • Cooking in the room.
  • Carrying of mess crockery in the room.
  • Moving of hostel property/furniture from the room. Disfiguring of walls/doors/almirah etc. and pasting of posters.

Imp. Instructions

  • All lights and fans must be switched off before leaving the room.
  • Ragging is totally banned. Anyone indulging in ragging will face suspension/expulsion from the Institute besides being charged with criminal offence case through F.I.R. under local Police Station.
  • Hostellers are themselves responsible for their valuables, cash, mobile phones, computers etc.
  • Last entry time at night in the hostels are as under:
    a) Girls Hostel (Outer Gate) : 7:00 PM
    (Inner Gate) : 9:00 PM
    b) Jr. Boys Hostel : 9:30 PM
    c) Sr. Boys Hostel : 10:30 PM
  • Hostelers will follow the timings of mess and common room strictly.
  • All complaints against hostel attendants/servants should be brought to the notice of the warden in writing.
  • Residents should come to the dining hall in proper dress and are advised to avoid wastage of food. The Institute authorities can conduct surprise checks at any time. Violation of hostel rules or office orders/notices issued by the university institute authorities, from time to time, is punishable.

Hostel Rules

  • Students must occupy the rooms allotted to them for the session and no change of room shall be made without the permission of the Chief Warden.
  • The allotment of rooms shall be done at the beginning ofevery academic session.
  • All the students are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner and not do anything that may disturb others at study or at work in the hostel.
  • While checking in and out of the hostel premises, the residents must fill up the In-Out Register maintained by the warden.
  • Boy’s hostellers intending to remain out of the hostel for one night or more must inform the warden in writing before leaving the hostel and also must obtain Student Gate Pass from the warden.
  • Girl’s hostellers would be allowed to leave the hostel during holidays or otherwise only when prior written consent from the parents through letter or fax is received and permission to leave is granted by the Principal.
  • Names of the relatives/guardians, who are to be authorized to visit their ward residing in the Girls Hostel should be specifically mentioned and verified by the respective parents in the Hostel Registration Form.
  • Before leaving the hostel for overnight absence, the hostellers shall get the Movement Form signed from the warden and on return deposit the same duly signed by parent/guardian

Transport Facility

Safety of our students is our prime concern. Thus, our transport facility is fully equipped to provide the safest & the most convenient transport solution. The college provides excellent transportation facilities with a fleet of buses. Transportation focuses on accessibility rather than the mobility and Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions provides a wide range of transportation facility. We covered the entire route through our bus system. These buses bring the students and staff to the campus in the morning before commencement of the class work and return back after the completion of the classwork. To ensure a smooth commuting to and from the college, Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions runs its fleet of buses for students and staff from Himalayan and beyond, facilitate the movement of students and staff. The route of the transport is decided on the basis of student density in various locations of city.

The buses ensure an excellent connectivity throughout Himalayan and nearby villages. A vehicle for emergency purposes is also available round the clock in the service of students.

Wi-Fi Facility

21st Century belongs to “Era of Web Information” as Internet plays backbone for every aspect of life.Understanding the need and importance of Internet in the field of education, our campus is supported by round the clock High Speed Internet and has a strong backbone of dedicated OFC link throughout the campus with the help of which the students can surf the Web and can enhance their knowledge as well as extract unlimited e-Information.

In addition to this, the students are also being provided Wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) using which the students can access online information anywhere in and around the campus using their Laptops and Hand-held devices.Recently Reliance Jio have also installed OFC in our campus and providing the free Wi-Fi connectivity to the students, teachers and all for their Laptops and Hand-held devices. All the buildings of the campus are connected with the OFC, providing the high speed internet facility.

Library Facility

A library can be considered a store-house of knowledge. It plays a very important role in promoting the progress of knowledge. Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions has an automated central library covering an area of 900m square. With the developments in computers, microelectronics and communication technologies, the behavioral characteristics of the information seekers have been changing rapidly and the library is trying its best to adapt with the technological advancement. A large number of reference books, national and international journals on variety of subjects are also available which assist in processing information and updating knowledge. The library is fully computerized and embellished with Wi- Fi zone with photocopy and printing facilities. The digital section provides the students with Audio/ Video CD’s & CBT’s. Library services can be availed round the clock. ERP Software has also been instituted in library system.

The libraries at Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutionsare more like integrated Knowledge Resource Centerthat are stocked with over 5100 books in total, periodicals, references, national and International Journals, CD-ROMs covering all aspects of academic studies and research material.

Guest House

The campus have a guest house with well furnished rooms. These rooms have attached bathrooms cum toilets with them. These rooms have all modern facilities such as A.C., LED, Wi-Fi facility and so on. These rooms are available for parents and also for students when they came in off hours. No charges are taken for these rooms.
